Mies van der Rohe MR 100 Chaise Lounge Chair

Mies van der Rohe MR 100 Chaise Lounge Chair

The Mies van der Rohe MR 100 Chaise Lounge Chair leverages the aesthetic qualities of tubular steel, a traditionally utilitarian material, while exuding luxury through the contrast between padded leather and the minimalist chrome frame.  Designed in 1931, it uses a similar design to the other chairs in the MR series.  The cantilever frame was reinforced, providing both strength and comfort to the chair.  The continuous closed tubular frame is a feature found in many Mies van der Rohe furniture pieces and in the work of other Bauhaus masters, including Gropius and Breuer.

Made in Italy.
